IT’S NATIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK!
This weekend kicks off Catholic Schools Week from January 30 – February 6, with the Annual School Family Mass on Saturday at 5:00pm. At all Masses this weekend, there will be a second collection to benefit the school’s Financial Assistance Fund, which allows many of our students to attend our parish school. Would you like to tour St. Laurence Catholic School? Contact Marie Brown and she’ll set you up with a tour sometime the week of February 1.
SLCS PROSPECTIVE PARENT OPEN HOUSE TOMORROW
St. Laurence Catholic School invites all parents interested in a Catholic education for their children to attend their Open House on Thursday, January 28, from 6-8pm. Come to the school to meet our teachers and tour the school. A general information session will be offered at 7pm in the school gym.
TAKE YOUR HOT SHOT TO THE KC FREE THROW CONTEST ON SATURDAY
All boys and girls between the ages of 10-14 are invited to participate in the Knights of Columbus Annual Free Throw Contest. It will be held this Saturday, January 30, in the St Laurence Catholic School gym at 2:00pm. Kids are grouped to compete against others their same age and gender and winners qualify to move onto the district competition and the state finals! Please contact Ian Cullen or Greg Schockling for more information. Good luck!
TONIGHT – COME TO THE SHACK!
If you’ve read The Shack by Wm Paul Young, most likely you were moved and challenged by this book. Come join others to discuss, reflect and share your thoughts, TONIGHT, in the parish hall from 7:00-9:00pm. This course will continue the next two Wednesdays, with a powerful video of an interview with the author next week. Cost is $5/session. For more information, click HERE. Registration is encouraged by emailing Pat Kerlin.
GOT SOME FREE TIME FRIDAY MORNING?
Join other volunteers this Friday morning, January 29, at 9:00am in the Social Concerns Workroom to bag rice and bean kits for people in need in Richmond. We hope to build a regular team of volunteers to come every other Friday morning, so if you are retired, off work on Fridays, or a stay-at-home parent, we can use your help! Please email Patti Christensen and she’ll answer any questions you may have!
OUT ON THE PLAZA AFTER MASSES THIS WEEKEND
Be sure to stop by the tables in the courtyard after Mass this weekend. The Knights of Columbus will be taking orders for their popular Super Bowl briskets. You can pre-order your smoked and ready-to-eat brisket for pick up on Super Bowl Sunday morning. Proceeds support the KC’s many charities. Also, on the plaza, the students of St. Agnes Academy will be offering one last chance to win a 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid. Buy a raffle ticket for just $1 or $10/book of 10 and benefit our 90 girls who attend SAA. Thanks for your support!
